Rare that I ever go out on a Wednesday night but I wanted to pick up a new Two:Tone shirt and spend time with my best friend Athena before SXSW. Completely sore the next day from running up and down the stairs at Wits End I completely remembered why I wore sneakers: I CAME TO DANCE.
Photos are up now. Enjoy!
RSVP so you don’t sleep tonight! >>>
Two:Tone is having super bad ass bad master Spike Tee tonight in Dallas at Wit’s End. Here is someone who has hip hop flavor with deep bass carne sounds. He’s been a part of London’s music scene for over 20 years and is a founding member of UK’s hip hop scene, The Sindecut.
This is a part of Two:Tone’s Summer Series. Wit’s End has a bad ass roof top with a great view of Deep Ellum all the way to downtown Dallas where talented artists will be doing live work with support from Two:Tone residents Thomas Allen, Norm 3, descrutive ME, RCA & MC Astro. All for $10 2724 ELM ST DALLAS TX 75226
DOORS OPEN @ 9PM
Joining tonight’s bass fest is Ragga Scum
and Mighty Monkz from San Antonio.
Going to need to schedule a day off work if you had originally planned on going to any type of work that requires brain cells tomorrow.
Use this as your wallpaper because you’ll want to remember this.
Had too much dancing to this.
It has been nearly 20 years since this album came out and I STILL to this very day completely changed my life! Listening to this album now, I feel how timeless it is and still have a quality about it that can always have me jam out. I have purchased this several times in CD, downloaded a track here, a friend got me remixes on vinyl, everyone know sings Heroes by heart. None of us know what “Shidoobeedoo, beda, bedaii, Shidoobeedoo, da, down da down” even means but we say it every time.
Earlier today I shared this and some people had never heard of Roni Size! Take a listen now.
Even better take a look at the music videos!
Brown Paper Bag
Also I shared this on twitter & Roni Size responded so I had a major fan moment: I felt like I had won the Super Bowl. As a major fan of this album, I enjoyed reading this track by track notes from Roni Size on MusicRadar.com.
If I ever lost my current copy of this album, I will buy it again. I will probably give it to my unborn children as a gift like, “Here child, this is why your mother is so amazing.” I’ve also bought the 2008 remixes.
Do you have an album that you always buy?
Soul & jazz kissed drum & bass. ALSO just saw that Makoto put a free download of an unreleased track from between 2007-2008. I always like to think of anything off Good Looking’s label as “music for the intelligent more mature EDM listener” Just listen, it’s very much the tempo of drum & bass with the intelligence and layers of jazz. I know it sounds crazy but if you download the above mix & give it as a gift to someone over the age of 50 they will like it as much as someone that is in their 20s. Timeless music!
The beginning of this has got to be the funniest shit ever! Gangnam style was the most annoying song of 2013! When I was in Vegas a week ago, my friend dared me to ask the DJ to play it AND HE PROBABLY WOULD HAVE. I want to go to a club that plays Bro Safari, Noah D, Heroes & Villians, A Tribe Called Red, B R I L L Z…& of coures Die Antwoord (esp after they pissed off Lady Gaga ha!) lol. Shit, well I don’t have too because I downloaded this mix instead. Good I hate stomping around in 4 inch heels.
